about to fall over, open up
The contents flooding
my mind
Spilling out in tears

I miss the way you'd
hold me at night
when I couldn't sleep,
you let me keep you up

you showed me a ring,
I wore it everyday
Until you left
(Then I almost threw it down the drain.)

You shyed away
from meeting my father

you got me into walking
with my hands in pockets

That's 21 century "normal"
If you can call it that
That's the sort of thing you see everyday

Normal is hard to attain;

Seeds.Holding onto memories of those terrible nights within your grasp is beginning engrave words in your skin and in your thoughts. You can let it all follow around you in the clouds you inhale and the stomach acid you release after those long secluded nights because after all everything is a memory someday.

Holding onto your deteriorating past denies it the chance to decay and bloom from the remnants that are leftover.

"Best Friend Story"

We were both young when I first met you
I close my eyes
Some flashbacks start
We're sitting there
On a swing set
In summer air

Imagining lights
Huge parties
And ball gowns
Prince Charming makes his way through the crowd
To say hello

Little did we know…

That'd I'd have all I'd ever need
From the day that one met the other
We were hidin' on the staircase
We didn't want to go

So I said

Alice let's go somewhere we can be alone
Let's talk Twilight
Or Pretty Little Liars
You'll be my best friend, and I'll be yours
This is our story
So let's talk some more

So I sneak out my phone at night
We keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew
Let's just talk
Into the early hours
Of dawn

Because you're all that I ever need
And our parents tell us to get some sleep
But I was texting you in all caps
Begging you please don't go

And I said

Alice let's go somewhere we can talk alone
We'll keep laughing
Until the sun is up
Then maybe Edward will sparkle
